Solar Land Bank Assessment
Land selection for solar PV & CSP is a technical and experience intensive activity. Selection of favourable site and its acquisition are the foremost activities before conceptualization of any solar farm.
We have a partnership with real estate, interconnection, utility, and permitting professionals for acquiring and developing sites ready for solar system deployment. Our expert team has identified 5000 acres of land in seven different states suitable for solar applications (Solar PV & Solar Thermal). These lands are available at a reasonable price and are ready for acquisition.
Exergy has developed a unique 25 point land selection criterion. Each point has been given a weight-age based on in-house research done by Exergy in collaboration with IIT Delhi & IIT Kharagpur.
Whole procedure of site selection involves following four set of activities –
- First Level Site Identification
Provide screening level analysis of environmental and permitting issues associated with prospective power generation sites in identified regions. We will identify sites or areas that have minimal environmental and permitting issues.
- Second Level Site Identification
We will define and implement environmental design criteria and conduct project environmental reviews on possible sites in previously screened areas. We will work with all local, state and federal agencies in determining what permits would be required.
- Technical Feasibility of Land
Our consultants shall survey land sites available and evaluate the sites on several technical parameters. Some parameters are as follows—
- Solar Radiation
- Obstacle shadow
- Grid Evacuation Point
- Connectivity by road
- Connectivity by train
- Distance from urban infrastructure
- Distance from airport
- Boarding and Lodging Facilities for Technical and Management staff
- Terrain, levelization degree
- Soil strength
- Availability of water
- Drainage System
- Security
- Availability of labor
- Social Support for Power Plant
- Other geographical risks
- Dust percentage in air
- Temperature
- Policy Friendliness of State
NVVN & state policies are not clear in several aspects about solar power quota allotment. Policy friendliness is a complex issue that will be addressed separately with technical feasibility of land. Our Experienced consultants will evaluate the site on the NVVN and state policies.
Deliverables of Exergy shall involve,
- Comprehensive report containing “Technical feasibility of Land” and “Policy Friendliness” for Solar PV/CSP
- Final conclusions on our findings
- Local contact details who will help in assessment and acquisition
